This is a fantastic tour if you want to spend your time outdoors and enjoy activity and participation. Your adventure begins with a twenty five minute narrated van ride through historic Skagway. On your way to the White Pass Summit, you will retrace the route taken by thousands of gold-crazed stampeders during the rush of 1898. Along the way your experienced guides will entertain you with stories of past and present while familiarizing you with the local flora and fauna.
After your bicycle orientation and safety briefing, your guides will escort you fifteen miles downhill from the summit ! back to Skagway. As you coast along the paved Klondike Highway on this one and a half hour bike ride, you will make multiple stops for photos and see cascading waterfalls, awe-inspiring glaciers, majestic mountains, and the historic White Pass Railroad. You even get to cross the US border on a bicycle! After your thrilling ride enjoy time in historic downtown Skagway.
Notes: You must be confident on a bicycle with hand brakes coasting downhill at speeds between 15 and 25 MPH (23 - 40 KPH). Passports and other necessary immigration documents are required for US border inspection. Helmets are required. Participants must be at least 13 years old and 4’6” tall. Sport shoes and layered clothing are recommended. A helmet, rain/wind jacket, pants, and fleece gloves are provided. The ride is approximately 15 miles. Tour time may vary depending on delays at the US border station.
