Are Bigfoots real and do they live in Skagway?
Throughout the ages, Bigfoots have roamed the North American continent. As men grew more numerous and populations expanded, Bigfoots traveled north because they like to live in solitude and be at one with nature. However, even Alaska has become more populated, so there is little wonder that Bigfoots are spotted from time to time. In today’s blog, we seek to discover whether Bigfoots are real (they are) and whether they live in Skagway.
Man keeps harshing Bigfoots vibe
Check out this link about a Bigfoot sighting that happened May 18, 2011 in Ketchikan. A simple Google search will reveal that this sighting was one of the most exciting stories that year. The story appeared in papers across the globe. If you clicked the video link then you already know that someone, or something, removed the video. Fortunately, I saw it.
In the video, two men are hiking to a fishing spot near Ketchikan when they encounter a large, hairy, cryptid with big feet. While this isn’t the first video evidence offering proof that Bigfoots walk the earth, it is the first Alaskan footage that received international attention. Obviously, this is all the proof we really need, but there is another story that will make the hairs on your back stand straight up unless you shave your back.
The terror of Thomas Bay
In the year of 1900, a group of miners set out for Thomas Bay to prospect for gold, which is about 50 miles north of Wrangell. Sailors have a nickname for the body of water – “The Bay of Death.” The place where they made camp is called “Devil’s Country,” yet no white man knew why the indigenous people named it so, nor did they know why the area was considered cursed. Seems like a bad idea to me, but what do I know?
One of the miners was named Harry D. Colp, and he told a tale from their expedition that is still unexplained to this very day. One of the other men, whose name was kept a secret by his own request lest people think he had gone insane, relayed a story of his journey into the bush in search of gold.
This unnamed man hiked to a crescent-shaped lake where he found a shelf of quartz bedrock rich with flecks of gold. He broke off a piece with the butt of his gun, damaging it beyond repair. Still, with the gold in hand, he was excited to hike back to camp so they could return with mining equipment and find their fortune. It was then he noticed that the air was still.
Not a single bird could be heard, which was odd because grouse constantly hoot in the early spring months.
Then he told the men, “Right then fellows, I got the scare of my life. I hope to God I never see of go through the likes of it again. Swarming up the ridge toward me from the lake were the most hideous creatures. I couldn’t call them anything but Devils, as they were neither men nor monkeys, yet looked like both. They were entirely sexless, their bodies covered with a course hair, except where the scabs and running sores had replaced it. Each one seemed to be reaching out for me and striving to be the first to get me. The air was full of their cries, and the stench from the sores and bodies made me faint.”
The man ran as fast as he could, yet the creature’s “claw-like fingers scraped” his back. He was able to escape and showed the men the piece of quartz as evidence of his terrifying encounter. Even though unimaginable riches could be theirs, the men never returned. You can read all about this tale in “The Strangest Story Ever Told” by Harry D. Colp.
Obviously, Bigfoots have been around a long time. This also proves that aliens were experimenting on them back in 1900 because they were showing the effects of extraterrestrial radiation.
Are there Bigfoots in Skagway?
Obviously, there are. Take a look at this photo I took of a Bigfoot footprint just last week. No bear or moose makes tracks such as these. I tracked these prints for some time before I came to a ledge too steep for any man to climb. It was then I looked up to a tall ridge and saw something move. I could swear in that moment it flipped me off, made a long guttural howl, and lumbered off into the woods.
If you’re hiking around Skagway, be sure to be on the lookout. You never know when a Bigfoot is going to make an appearance.
